What is Software localization

Software localization is the translation and adaptation of a software or web product, including the software itself and all related product documentation to a different target language.

Software localization can include different requirements. For example, software text requirements can include creating software texts for a machine with a display screen that is not capable of displaying any of the special characters of the target language (e.g.: ä, ö, ü, ß).

The localization of software texts can include further requirements, such as the length of the strings or the positioning of different wildcards or hotkeys.
