What does the quote 'famous last words' actually mean? (i know that sounds stupid) ?
"-said as an ironic comment on an overconfident assertion that may later be proved wrong."
Factually, the quote means exactly what it says - the final words of someone on the point shortly before.
Pic below: assertions that are almost immediately countered. (Sarcastic.) A: "I said I would never speak to her again in my entire life!"
B: Famous last words! "You just said hello and how are you to her."
